Literature Circles
Some of the best ways for students to become better readers are for them to
1) Read
2) Think about what they have read
3) Discuss what they have read.
The Way Literature Circles Work:
*5 students are given the same novel to read

*There are 10 discussion days and 10 work days that occur in an alternating cycle.
work days= students read their assigned reading and complete their assigned comprehension role
discussion days= students share and discuss their comprehension roles the next day during Literature Circles.

*After a book is finished, new novels and groups are assigned and the cycle begins again.
